Naturarvet acquires new old-growth forest.
Naturarvet acquires 12 ha of varied old-growth forest next to Iglekärr nature reserve. We have a letter of intent with the owner and are valuing the forest now in November. We will make the down payment and contract in December and then the land registry will settle between the Nature Heritage property and the neighbour's.
With strong fundraising, the acquisition could be completed as early as next year. Join us and contribute by becoming forest patron, buy gift vouchers in forest shop, buy umbrella trees or just give a gift earmarked for Iglekärr Solliden as we call the new addition of old-growth forest.

Inventories that you can contribute to
The inventory of Vånevik-Påskallavik old-growth forest at the end of October resulted in new red-listed species and signal species. The findings will be published on the species data portal and as a long list on our website hopefully next week.
With these new species, we hope to make the politicians in Oskarshamn municipality realise that the greatest value of the forest is not the plots but the forest itself, and therefore it must be protected.
Iglekärr Solliden will be surveyed for lichens in late November. We keep our fingers crossed for continued snow-free conditions, a nice list of red-listed species (aspen and wood elm are already listed) and that many people want to join the collection to protect this gem.
