Naturarvet and the International Day of Forests

On the occasion of International Forestry Day, the World Rainforest Movement has issued a press release stating that 200 organizations (one of which is Naturarvet) remind the FAO that plantations should not be counted as forests. The current definition "harmonizes" many countries' forestry laws, including Sweden's. And that's why we have a forest landscape in Sweden that, according to the National Forest Inventory, looks like the video below. The video was created to draw attention to the distorted image of what we have of so-called forests in Sweden, which is characterized by the forest industry's normalization of pure production forests and marginalization of old-growth forests. From the forest's perspective, the most normal thing is to be a primeval forest.
