Meet our latest addition to Naturarvets expert council: Bjarne Tutturen. He has a solid background as a municipal ecologist and nature reserve manager, where his work has consisted of many different types of nature inventories. In addition, Bjarne has worked with both nature guiding and outdoor education, with a focus on spreading knowledge and inspiring more people to discover and understand the importance of nature.
For Bjarne, nature is not just a field of work, but a lifelong interest and a source of both curiosity and relaxation. His passion is diving in a tranquil lake, a sea bay, or a river surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery.
"But it could just as easily be hiking in the primeval forest among larks and three-toed woodpeckers, or across the mountain heath with the melancholic call of the heath pipit as your companion," says Bjarne.
A good day at work for Bjarne is when he can make a difference.
– A good day is a day when I contribute to preserving or protecting valuable nature. A good day can also be a day when you feel surrounded by nature and a sense of calm descends.
Nature inventory work is particularly close to his heart. The joy of discovery is strong, and finding a species for the first time is always something special. However, the most enjoyable part is when he gets to share the moment with others who are interested in nature. Of all the species in the forest, there is one that stands out.
"The jay is always so fearless and curious, loves to chat, and feels like pleasant company when you're doing inventory," says Bjarne.
With his extensive experience and deep understanding of species, forest ecosystems, and natural value inventory, Bjarne will be an important member of the expert council. We at Naturarvet warmly Naturarvet him.
