Biodiversity Day 22 May
Naturarvet is participating in the Biological Diversity Day on May 22 with two activities:
- Bomb Naturarvet with ancient forests! Report your favorite forest to Naturarvet - Submit geotagged photos or just coordinates or place names that can be found on a map service for your favorite forest! Send information about your favorite forest to naturarvet@naturarvet.se, whether you think it is old-growth forest or not. Naturarvet then research the reported forests to see if they are possible to protect with Naturarvet management. Who knows, it might be your old-growth forest that becomes the next old-growth forest Natural Heritage! NOTE! Ongoing now until May 22. Naturarvet will present the results on May 22.
- Bioblitz in Solliden! - NOTE! Sunday, May 21. Join us and increase the knowledge of the biodiversity in the sunny old-growth hill to be able to present a nice list of red-listed and other conservation species to the county administrative board so that they want to incorporate the area into Iglekärr's nature reserve. Sign up for the Bioblitz day with an email. If you want to contribute before May 21, that's fine too. The coordinates of The Wholly Oak Tree which stands in the heart of Solliden are 57.981224, 12.244747 - Visit the area and immerse yourself in vascular plants, beetles, birds, anything you want. Report in Artportalen and we will compile a complete species list from the area until May 22. Here is the link to the Facebook event, where you can also register.
