We won! Our appeal against the County Administrative Board's decision to refuse the acquisition permit has been upheld by the Swedish Board of Agriculture, which has given us permission to acquire Solliden. The reasons given in the decision include:
In view of the fact that, according to its statutes, the Foundation is also required to give up forests and land for nature reserve establishment whenever possible, the Board of Agriculture considers that, overall, it is likely that the Foundation will be able to give up land corresponding to the property intended for acquisition. Acquisition permission can therefore be granted on the basis of Section 6(1) of the Land Acquisition Act (1979:230).
Now we have an unforeseen cost of 60 000 SEK to pay. That is what the official on the county council's decision on the rejection has cost us. Help us pay it. You can mark a donation with "approve Solliden" by writing it in the message on the payment slip. We count every Solliden-marked donation in your own collection for Solliden, where we have now updated the fundraising target.
You can also safely become the "owner" of an umbrella tree, which is a specific old tree in Solliden, with coordinates and documented with various photos. A unique gift certificate is included. It is called an umbrella tree because not only the tree but all life in an area of a circle with 10-15 m radius around the tree is preserved by your gift.
