Rebecca Le Moine's fundraising for forest rights

Naturarvet is delighted that Rebecka Lemoine's fundraising for forest protection has received such a great response and especially pleased that the money is now coming in to Svartsundets old-growth forest.

• Rebecka's collectionIn 2020, Rebecka Lemoine started a fundraiser for her 30th birthday. If the money wasn't enough to buy her own forest through a new foundation, the fundraising would go entirely to Naturarvet for the protection of old-growth forest. The amount that Naturarvet is now receiving from Rebecka will be set aside as a circular area of 1.2 ha in Svartsundets old-growth forest . We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Rebekah's fundraising. See here where the forest is.
• Rights of natureWith her fundraising, Rebecka wanted to start a foundation that would focus on the rights of nature in its statutes. Naturarvet has statutes that guarantee strong protection for the rights of nature in practice. To make this clear, we have an ongoing project to draw up a specific agreement with Nature on the properties owned by the Fundraising Foundation. The aim of the project is to produce a legally binding agreement that grants Nature rights that must be respected.
