#Beauty in the old-growth forest is Natural Heritage's 2019 campaign!

We want to convey the message that what makes old-growth forest unique, and at the same time common to all old-growth forest in the world, is the availability of dead wood in the form of fallen logs, which offer a nice place to hang out. Without fallen logs, you have to sit on the ground or stand when you take your coffee break. Of course, the dead wood is vital, especially for the endangered species associated with it and as a carbon store when the lignin in the wood is slowly stored in the ground, but it is also important to understand that it is in the old-growth forest with friends that you can have a really good time in nature.
