Best old forest friend!
We would like to make two main announcements:
- Fundraising for the Solliden old-growth forest took off in July. What contributed to it was mainly a sad fate and two happy events. The tragic death of Andreas Stansvik in a fall accident in the Faroe Islands is a great loss for Andreas' family and friends, and also for nature conservation in Sweden as a whole. In accordance with the parents' wishes, we opened the collection Andreas glance to honour his memory by setting aside an area of Solliden where Andreas documented the red-listed bird's foot moss in several places. The response was enormous and the area preserved for all time in Andreas' memory is now 1.8 ha, much larger than a clearing. Rebecca Le Moine's wish for an inspiring fundraiser for The clearing of hope as a birthday present received a fantastic response with a 4,000 sqm clearing preserved for all time. Victoria Oaks, a fundraiser to mark Crown Princess Victoria's commitment to the environment on her 40th birthday, resulted in a beautiful 2,000 square metre woodland clearing. All collections can still be contributed to here. - On Wednesday 16/8 we will change our webhost. There may be traffic disruptions on the website during the day. The click may therefore be temporarily out of order, as well as the forest shop etc. Please be patient and come back later in the evening and every day and click for the old-growth forest. Over the next few weeks we will also be changing our database, payment exchange and redemption provider and updating forest shop. Even then, disruptions may occur. Be patient, everything will be fine!
