Easter is just around the corner and signs of spring are appearing all over the countryside. Some of us who live near a beech forest will surely lace up our hiking boots and head out to enjoy the white seas. And speaking of beech forests, we at Naturarvet have an Easter egg for you - filled with new forest plots to put your name on. The forest plots are located in a new area of our popular Ekås oak-beech forest.

Last year we released forest plots in the area Ekås oak-beech forest E1 which is now full. Many thanks for that! It is your gift and your contribution to, not least, forest plots that allows the last old-growth forests to be preserved for all time. 😀

We have now released new forest plots in the area Ekås oak-beech forest E2 where you can "buy" your own or give away one or more forest plots. Of course, you will receive a gift certificate with a picture from the area, with the coordinates to the center of your chosen box. So if you have the roads past Ekås oak-beech forest, you can easily find the forest box.

Ekås is located in Gällared parish in Falkenberg municipality, and consists of an older secondary natural deciduous forest dominated by beech in the eastern part and more oak mixed forest in the west. In the south there is a younger naturally established mixed deciduous forest with elements of ash and aspen. In the west there is also a meadow that has been grazed for a long time, and thus has developed high natural values. Thanks to cooperation, the meadow can still be grazed in a way that benefits the species there.
