New Partnership to protect old-growth forest

Old-growth forests are vital for biodiversity and the survival of many species. Half of these forests lack secure protection and are being cut down faster than they are protected. Outnorth is now launching an initiative to work with its customers and Naturarvet protect Sweden old-growth forest.

old-growth forest are more or less untouched forests or forests that have been carefully managed without modern methods and clearing. Such forests have declined significantly in Sweden, creating an increasingly critical situation for all the endangered species associated with old-growth forests.

Through an integration via Klarna, Outnorth's customers can contribute to protect Sweden old-growth forest in connection with their purchases. Through this, customers can choose how much forest they want to contribute and protect, what it costs and at the same time get an estimate of how much carbon dioxide the forest stores.
The donations from customers go directly to Outnorth's partner, the Naturarvet Fundraising Foundation, which buys old-growth forests in Sweden so that they can be protected for all time.

- As charitable foundation , we rely entirely on the involvement of the public, businesses and other organisations. Together they provide the funds we need to buy old-growth forest, which is permanently protected by the Foundation's statutes. When Outnorth took the initiative to create a Klarna application for their customers, Naturarvet did the same. Visitors to our website, in addition to making a one-off gift, can also become monthly donors like forest patron. We are delighted to be working with two such committed companies," says Lo Jarl, Director of Operations at Naturarvet.

Outnorth has previously donated funds to Naturarvet and will continue to do so in parallel with the new fundraising initiative.
- That protect old-growth forest is positive both from a climate perspective and with regard to the issue of biodiversity. We know that our customers are strongly committed to sustainability issues and hope that this initiative will provide Naturarvet with additional resources to strengthen the protection of old-growth forests," says Stefan Gustafsson, Sustainability Manager at Outnorth.
