Stop deforestation - for the sake of the climate!

Scientists agree that all deforestation must be stopped if we are to have any chance of avoiding more than 1.5° of warming. Deforested forests also need to be restored. Above all, remaining natural forests must be kept intact.

We're in a hurry! According to the 2015 SCB statistics release, it will be too late by 2030, as calculated by the Species Data Bank. This is in line with Naturarvet's own calculations.

Despite the adoption of environmental quality objectives such as Limited Climate Impact, Living Forests and Rich Fauna and Flora in 1999, the deforestation of old forests across the country increased by 20-30% in the ten-year period 2005-2015 compared to the ten-year period 1989-1999.
