The combined annual carbon uptake of these forests of about 3,000 tonnes of CO2 is equivalent to 333 average Swedes' consumption-based emissions of 9 tonnes of CO2 per person per year. The total cost of the acquisitions could amount to about €22 million. Divided among 333 people, this is SEK 66 000 per person.
Our appeal to 333 people: invest in one combined natural and climate heritage site each, which together will cover the cost of acquiring the forests. Because these forests will be protected in perpetuity, each investor's contribution will provide an annual carbon return that lasts a lifetime and can then be passed on to a successor. Take the opportunity to invest now. The forests we buy have an unusually low total price per hectare, so you'll never get a deal this good again.
The price tag for our nature and climate heritage heroes is 66 000 SEK each. If you invest this amount and live for 33 years after the investment is made, the cost per tonne of carbon dioxide is SEK 200. If you live longer, it will be cheaper. In addition to the climate benefit, you protect invaluable natural values and give yourself and other fellow human beings living now and in the future an opportunity for magical experiences in the old-growth forest.
