It's April Fool's Day, but this is no time for jokes. In the midst of crisis, concern and grief for those most affected by the coronavirus, things are happening in Naturarvet.
After several years with a decreasing share of our income from the click, we have, through careful consideration, in conversation with our click sponsors and based on expert advice, come to the conclusion that we will discontinue the click. Our sponsors have recently chosen other ways to sponsor us and we look forward to developing more forms of fruitful collaborations with companies. Since we no longer have any click sponsors, we choose to discontinue the click today.
We want you as a visitor to our website to find other good reasons to visit it often. We are currently in the process of redesigning our website, which will make it easier to donate and become forest patron. We will soon launch at least parts of our newly produced website.
Our steady donors are unbeatable in their passion for Natural Heritage's mission to protect the last Swedish old-growth forests. In recent years we have met or far exceeded our budget targets. To increase the protection of old-growth forest in Sweden, we need to increase our fundraising many times over. We need to reach a wider audience and attract more passionate donors. We hope our initiative in April with heavily discounted ads in National Geographic, Illustrated Science and a free ad in Ordfront Magazine will have a great response. Keep an eye out!
For a few years now, we have been looking for the next forest to protect forever. We have looked for forests and have received many different tips. Some conversations with forest owners have looked promising, but a deal has not materialized due to various circumstances. We are trying to reach out to forest owners with our message. In February ATL wrotethe largest magazine for forestry and agriculture, wrote about Naturarvet and our search for forest. Today we received another tip about forest, which we hope to tell you more about soon.
The skarn hole collection will continue until it is completed. In these times, we have only our donors to rely on. Promised government money is uncertain, we have not yet received a contract from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency for the promised million. There are many forest plots left to make their own or give away.
Lantmäteriet is ready and we own the land. The property has been incorporated into Ale Sålanda 2:22 (Iglekärr) and the County Administrative Board has decided to incorporate Skarnhålan into Ekliden's nature reserve, but we still have SEK 1 million in loans from the forest owner, which must be resolved by June 30.
Last but not least. We have another board member and two new alternates. Read more about the fantastic team that runs Naturarvet with knowledge and inspiration for the future.
LAV VÄL!
