Naturarvet has so far acquired a total of 804 ha old-growth forest and contributed to the protection of a total of 864 ha. The conserved forests are recent acquisitions

In May 2020, Naturarvet was tipped off about this property, which was acquired through a bidding process. This natural forest is beautifully and wildly situated on both sides of Svartsundet, a narrow pssage in Söderbodfjärden on Gräsö in northern Roslagen. With its 40 ha, this is a strategically placed piece of untouched nature that is home to many different kinds of biotopes and red-listed species, including the Gölgrodan. A pond to benefit it has been constructed in December 2021.
Read more "In 2018, on Biodiversity Day, a fire started in Iglekärr old-growth forest. On the same day, the contract for Skarnhålans old-growth forest was signed. The purchase could be completed Thank youthanks to a gift of nearly SEK 2 million. The remaining money was raised and supplemented by a grant from the state to cover an outstanding loan to the seller. Skarnhålans old-growth forestwas incorporated into the Ekliden nature reserve in 2021.
Read more "In 2016, we were awarded a contract for over 12 hectares of fine old-growth forest bordering the south-western part of Iglekärr old-growth forest. In 2017, the collection was completed and on 1 June 2019, 35 enthusiasts inaugurated the incorporation of Solliden into Iglekärr's nature reserve. In Solliden you can visit the Historical Winged Forest, The Wholly Oak Tree and the Hermit's Cave on the way up to the ancient castle.

The forest is located 10 miles west of Jokkmokk and very close to Årrenjarka's mountain village, where you can stay overnight if you want to visit the forest.
